New IMCI Inspector for Canada
Please welcome Ian Campbell aboard as the new IMCI Inspector for CanadaAs a marine engineer with the Canadian Coast Guard College in Sydney, Nova Scotia combined with his professional experience at sea and on Canada's inland waterways serving with the Coast Guard, Ian brings first-hand knowledge of the many aspects of marine operations, small boat construction and the intersection with the recreational boating sector as the new Canadian Inspector for IMCI.
This new arrival at IMCI certainly also marks a generational change.
Michael Vollmer, former IMCI Inspector for Canada, says of his successor: “I have worked with Ian for some time when he was working with Transport Canada in charge of the Office of Recreational Boating. He brought a lot of common sense to the job along with a love of boating. Ian’s engineer’s background will serve him and IMCI well as the new Canadian Inspector. Conducting an Audit with Ian was a great pleasure as he combines the background knowledge with a very thorough approach. Having been around since the beginning of IMCI and watched it become the leading Certification body in the world, it gives me great pleasure to welcome Ian aboard”.
Ulich Heinemann the IMCI CEO says: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank our long-time Inspector Michael Vollmer for his outstanding work for IMCI and wish him all the best in the future.
At the same time, I warmly welcome Ian on board of our international IMCI Inspectors team."
